Cheering For The Underdog
Most people always say they cheer for the underdog. Is it because they relate with the underdog, or perhaps because they feel bad for them? This seems odd to me, because the favorite to win usually put in more effort and time to get to where they are today. So why wouldn’t you cheer for someone who worked harder? Most people must like to see other people work hard in vain, or they like to witnesses miracles or things that shouldn’t normally happen. Regardless, it is frustrating to me when people cheer for the underdog simply because they cheer for underdogs. If you have a reason, such as they play as a team whereas the other team simply has one star player, that is okay, but why are you discounting what that star did to get there? They worked hard, so they deserve to win and be a star.
