When you hire a construction company to build something, it seems like they are perpetually behind schedule. Wouldn’t it make sense that they could calculate this into the estimate, and therefore wouldn’t be behind schedule all the time? After thinking about this though, it makes sense for a company to underestimate the time when they are bidding for a project. That way they can get the bid, then worry about being behind schedule later. When I hire someone to do construction, I plan on a few more weeks than each of the estimates given. Some companies may be different, but in general things always seem to take longer than they originally think.
