REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A PHARMACY TECHS
What’s needed to become a pharmacy tech differ from state to state. In California, the main governing body (California State Board of Pharmacy) provides three ways to become a Pharmacy Technician to work within the state:
1) Finish a program in a qualifying pharmacy school. Acceptable programs include getting an associates degree in pharmacy technology, finishing a training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), completing a course that has a minimum 240 hours of instruction as specified in section 1793.6 (c) of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations, and graduating from a pharmacy school accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
2) Certification (with proof) from the military.
3) Pass the PTC Certification Test as given by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). It helps to attend school to pass this exam. And pharmacy tech training online work well enough to make things convenient.
