Cardio Training
As American’s consume more and more fatty and processed foods and less of the healthy and nutritional foods their health is getting worse. Generally with bad foods waistlines expand, heart health decreases, and the risks associated with diseases increase. But with a little exercise and dieting Americans can get back on track and improve their health and fitness. Cardio workouts are one of the best ways to get and stay in shape.
There are different techniques in order to maximize your workout plan. Many people start programs but quickly get bored and gradually stop doing them. It’s important to change your routine in order to increase your fitness but also steer clear of burnout. So when your fitness program levels off you need to make some adjustments.
Cardio workouts should include three parts. The first of which is continuous training. This means that when most individuals start their program they spend their entire workout doing one activity. Generally, this is what people start off with because it’s the easiest. They are getting some exercise and individuals are able to either speed up on the bike or in jogging. Plus this means that individuals are primarily exercising their major muscle groups. But it quickly becomes boring so it’s important to add something new to your workout.
The next step is interval training. This means that individuals will spend different amounts of time on light and hard exercise. So one of this could be the run five walk five. So joggers will run five minutes then walk five minutes then run five, walk five and so on. This is extremely challenging and the intervals can last anywhere between 2-10 minutes. And there should be both a light and a hard interval. And the light interval shouldn’t be longer than the short interval. By doing a workout plan similar to this, individuals will be able to work more muscles and hit different heart rate zones.
In order to improve the workout, the next best thing is composite training. Composite training consists of combining several different cardio exercises in succession. An example of this could be 15 minutes of biking, 15 of jogging, and 15 of jump roping. By doing several different types of exercises it challenges your body and works different muscles as well as increases your heart rate. Plus it keeps individuals from getting bored of their workout because they are doing different things.
Exercise is crucial if individuals want to get in shape and improve their health. However once they have built a challenging cardio workout and are doing it consistently they should also realize that strength training, flexibility training, and weight management are also crucial. Individuals can’t get everything from just one type of exercise. So in order to get the best results, the workout routine should encompass all of these elements.
