It is always best to look as good as you can for an interview. Today more than ever, with the job market as tough as it is, you want to put your best foot forward and dazzle them with your skills, attitude and smile. You want to have every advantage you can, so be sure to keep these tips in mind when dressing for your next job interview:
Men: Keep a 2 piece suit pressed and ready to wear at all times if you are interviewing. Wear a power tie – red – to show your go-get-em abilities. Make sure your shoes are neat and polished and, obvious though it may seem, that your socks are a matching pair.

Ladies: Depending on the work environment, you might want to choose a 2 piece business skirt and jacket set or if this is for a more casual job you can wear carefully chosen pants, such as a dark colored (navy or gray is best) pair of pants with a crease and a tailored-look. Wear solid hosiery, not patterned or flamboyantly colored. Avoid heels – flats are best for a job interview.

The most helpful tip of all is to keep these items set aside from your daily wear so that you do not have to scurry around locating the right business attire just before your big interview. You don’t want to have to stop to iron a blouse or be worried because your suit pants have lost their crease; just keep them at the ready and you can feel good knowing that you are dressed to impress.

Another good rule of thumb for both ladies and men is to wear conservative colors – no lime green, bright fuschia or mustard yellow – it just is not recommended.
