Help! How Do I Pay for College?

How to Get Money for School

It is necessary these days for most individuals to have a degree to be able to get anywhere in the business world. So you know that already, the question is how to pay for it? There are many options available to you as you look into getting your university degree. Try every idea that anyone throws your way. The more funding you can find now, the less you will have to pay back later, and that is a good thing.

Scholarships

Get together with your high school counselor to learn just what scholarships are out there and which ones you can apply for today. Don’t rule yourself out from any possibility – you never know until you try – so you may as well apply for all the scholarship help you can. There are some mighty strange awards out there – but hey – free money is free money. If you are among those who would do something strange and wacky for a Klondike Bar, what would you do for your education and your future? You may be eligible for a $2,000 award to be applied to school if you win the Sophie Major Duck Calling Contest. It’s the truth! The NRA offers a $30,000 scholarship open to those who become valid members of their Youth Education Summit. Now that is some money worth getting!

Grants

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants of $100 – $4,000 are awarded to only the neediest students, as determined by their various financial situations. If you are a woman going back to school after raising your family or helping hubby through dental school, their are grants available just for you. The Jeanette Rankin Foundation is just one option for women joining the ranks of college students.

Loans

When all else fails, look into loans. You can get a federal loan to pay for your college tuition and books- but remember – this is a loan and you do have to pay it back. Filling out a FAFSA – or Free Application for Federal Student Aid – can get you either subsidized or unsubsidized loans. A subsidized loan is best, as it does not accrue interest while you are in school and therefore will be easier to pay back since you won’t have extra interest charges until you leave school. An unsubsidized loan is better than nothing, however, and will enable you to get that diploma that gives you a chance at a better and more fulfilling life.

Look into more ways to pay for school. Consider each of your school choices and financial options.
