Rankings Are High With Big Name Reviewers

Tuition

AT $485 a credit hour, the price of tuition at Florida Tech is on the high end for online programs. A fully accredited school, students can take advantage of Federal Student Aid, Stafford Loans, Tuition Assistance programs and other programs that might help defray the overall cost.

The Grade

If you are looking for a school that will challenge you and push you to learn more and stretch yourself then Florida Tech may be the choice for you. Students report that the faculty pushes you to learn and the material is challenging. Many students shared that they really had to work for the grade and they felt that they learned a great deal while at the University.

Some students complain that the teaching material is based too heavily on the textbooks. This may be the case with many online programs. Something to keep in mind when choosing any online program is that they are designed for students who are self-motivated and can learn on their own.

Some students also expressed that the workload is not conducive to working a full-time job, that the homework assignments are too intensive and time-consuming. They also report that there are not enough breaks each year with only three weeks off for Christmas and a single week between the two summer sessions.

Customer Service Issues

Few student reviews express concerns with the administration and general customer service issues. There are complaints that the books are excessively expensive and are only available through the University. Many students were not impressed with the University’s support system.

General Reputation

The University does have a solid reputation for producing graduates who are qualified and knowledgeable. The faculty is well-respected and qualified and they offer a good range of programs. Additionally, they have programs for military personnel and their spouses.

As far as online programs are concerned, Florida Tech offers one of the better programs. As with all online programs, there are dissatisfied people. Most of the reviews, however, are positive and the University enjoys solid ratings from reputable sources including Forbes. The price is on the high side, but the classes are challenging and if you are willing to put in the work you will probably receive a quality education.
