Considering Continuing Education?

After finishing an undergraduate degree, you can continue on to complete a graduate degree in a number of things. Common examples include Juris Doctor (law degree), a Masters in Business Administration, Medical Doctor, etc. Another way people continue education after an undergraduate degree is by gaining knowledge in a specific trade. For instance, if someone wants to own their own plumbing business, they could get an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and then move on to trade school.

Continuing education is very beneficial to those looking to gain skills in a specific area. After an undergraduate degree many people still find that they do not have any “hard skills.” Undergraduate education is more teaching students how to learn than to do anything very specific (of course there are exceptions), so in order to gain more specific skills that will help them with their job or make them more competitive in a job market, they get a graduate degree. Another example is people looking to begin their career soon after high school. Instead of getting an undergraduate degree from a college, they can go directly to a trade school and learn exactly what they need to get the job they want.
