68-Year-Old Succeeds on 950th Attempt
A 68-year-old woman has tried to pass the written exam for her drivers license almost daily for four and a half years. She finally passed on her 950th attempt. The woman has spent more than 5 million won or $4,200 on application fees but it finally paid off. The woman will now be able to drive herself around.
In order to pass the test you must get at least 60 points out of 100. The woman Cha Sa-soon passed with a 68. Police say the woman took the test hundreds of times but released no specific total. It was the local media that released the total. Now that Cha Sa-soon passed the written test she must pass the driving test.
It doesn’t seem like it would be worth that much time and effort to repeatedly keep studying for the driving test considering she’s now 68. If it took you almost 1,000 attempts to pass the first part of the test that’s not very encouraging. Most people find the driving test more difficult than the written one.
The fact that it has taken this lady that long to pass is a little bit frightening especially when it was a written test. The driving test might take her five more years and by then she’ll be 73- years-old. Plus, how many lives will she put in danger before she passes the driving test? Generally you should start considering giving up the keys for good at that age.
It doesn’t sound like this woman should be on the road. She is already in an advanced age and she can’t even pass the writing test and who knows about the driving test. She will be a danger to not only fellow drivers but pedestrians as well. Authorities should carefully consider giving her a license.
