$12 billion for 2 year colleges

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Due to the continued increase in unemployment, President Obama has unveiled a new plan that would give $12 billion to help community colleges.  This money is intended to create a new generation of educated workers that will turn around the economy.

President Obama has been working on turning around the economy, but there have been no visible signs that his plans are working.  There is a soaring deficit and unemployment rates are rising.  Michigan now has an unemployment rate of 14.1 percent, the nation’s worst.

The $12 billion dollars over 10 years is set to bump the two year colleges that educate millions of Americans.  These institutions help train people for jobs, in this changing economy.

Under the plan, grants would be offered to schools to try new programs or expand training and counseling.  This money would be used to help track students and their success along with rebuilding and renovating facilities.  It would also help many schools get online classes that would help colleges offer more degrees.

The government has put so much money into education.  If you are interested in furthering your education, then now is the time to start.  College classes are starting all the time online.  You can begin and finish in a short amount of time and be ready to start your career in something that you love.  Get signed up today!

Taking Online Classes

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

Technological advances are closing the gap between a real classroom setting and a virtual one. Online class five years ago generally required much more reading if you wanted to learn the same amount since there were no lectures or interaction with professors. However, thanks to faster internet connections and easy to use programs, professors can create a virtual classroom experience through the use of telecommunications. Video chatting using programs like Skype and iChat by Apple have always been popular with consumers, but it seems like more recently these tools are being utilized in classrooms. Students all over the world can now watch lectures and even participate in class via the Internet. Online classes are continually gaining popularity and this will only increase as online classes become more and more interactive. Recently, I have been watching the lectures on a computer programming class, and have been able to participate in class using various programs. Online certification programs will grow in popularity as well. For instance, to become certified as personal trainer you would have to take time off work and attend classes if they wanted the best education possible, but with online classes becoming better and better, more working professionals will take advantage of them.
